Hi!

I'm Hank Jacobs, a writer, filmmaker, and actor living in Los Angeles.

My Philosophy

The stories we tell ourselves define our reality. So fill your mind with better stories. Better stories lead to better ideas, better ideas lead to helpful actions, helpful actions lead to a better life. For all of us.

I am a storyteller. I create for passion,  money, and fun.

I want to work and play with people who want to make the world a better place. Some people have to jump off of things to get their adrenaline; I get mine by making things.

Things That Matter To Me

STORY

I have worked as a writer, director, producer, editor, actor, and voice actor. Whatever it takes to tell the story, I will dive in head first.

CIRCUS

I have a particular passion for circus. As a teenage actor in Minneapolis, I was blessed to work with the Theatre De La Jeune Lune, who approached everything they worked on from the standpoint of "how can we make this circus?" Living in the New York City at the turn of the century, I co-created (with a wonderful troupe of crazies) and ran a circus called Delicious Vaudeville. We ran it for two years in different locations around the city. You never knew quite what the show was going to be every night. It was very exciting.

VOICEOVER

Much of my professional life has been spent working as a voice actor, while I used the freedom it gave me to write dozens of scripts, make lots of short films, write/direct/produce/edit/act in a feature film, The Curse of El Segundo, make the above mentioned circus, and have a small role in the legendary poker film Rounders.

LIFE EXPERIENCE

I hold a black belt in Aikido. I made money as a mime, clown, and go-go dancer. I love to sing, cook, and I can walk for miles and miles. I've lived in Minneapolis, DC, New York City, Pittsburgh, and LA.

FAMILY

I'm a dedicated dad; I love my kids. I am blessed with a remarkable partner. There are many extraordinary and loving people in my communities. My family is solid, fascinating, and focused on making a better world. I am incredibly grateful for my life.

HUMANITY AND THE EARTH

Humanity is complicated and beautiful. The Earth is amazing. Life is miraculous. We are the beneficiaries of improbable good fortune. We get to connect to that.

If you've made it this far, thank you. I look forward to our conversation.
